Wellness Thru Art

The last 5 years have been overwhelming for many, and of those many, a majority got stuck in the mode of isolation and seeking comfort from their phone or addictions.  Blasted with a never-ending pulse of content to distract us from the world, and ultimately distracting us from ourselves.

Beyond the global narrative, we all had our own traumas, loss, grief and sadness to contend with.

But we got used to the distractions, which soon enough became one of our easy to access coping mechanisms.

I was very lucky to find a means of dealing with the heaviness of life and I would like to share part of the process that helped changed everything for me.

If it helped me, it might help someone else too.

I am not a clinical psychologist or any way trained as a therapist so my one-on-one art workshops are aimed at using a variety of creative processes to simply slow the mind down and focus on a single task.

This simple process of slowing down has the potential to unlock or unblock creativity and reveal different ways looking at things, opening up for more possibilities on how to take back control of the external and internal noises in your head and lay some groundwork to the healing you have been distracted from.

I will guide you through the fundamentals of concept, subject matter, composition, colour and the technical stuff, working in a variety of different mediums for you to explore.

From the moment I picked up a pencil 40+ years ago, my journey of art was always about the process, not the result.  This is still my focus, so wether you are a gifted artist or completely green, I cater to anyone keen to explore their creative side and learn a new skill with some advise, life experience, a laugh, maybe a tear.  Art is a means to visualize yourself and find out who you truly are, the same beautiful person you always were.
